Getting started

Install it

Run the installer. Windows may show a “Windows protected your PC” warning because the build isn't code-signed yet — click More info then Run anyway. It installs for your user only, no admin rights needed.

Create your account

Click Sign up on the app's login screen — or sign up on the web first, whichever you prefer. It's the same account either way.

Link your gaming accounts

Add your Minecraft name, Steam profile, or whatever the server you want needs — either in the app or at your account page. Servers whitelist you automatically within a minute.

Play

Jump into a voice room, find your server in the server list, and connect. Your account works everywhere on the network.

What's in it

Text chat Channels per server, threads, replies, reactions, image uploads, and mentions that actually notify you.

Voice & video Drop-in voice rooms, screen sharing with sound, push-to-talk, and per-person volume.

Server directory Every Union server with live status, player counts, and one-click connection details.

Friends Add people, see who's online, and jump into whatever they're playing.

Auto-updates New versions install themselves. You'll be told when one's ready and it applies on restart.

Self-hosted Runs entirely on Reptile Industries hardware. No third-party analytics, no ad tech, no data sold.

On your phone

The desktop app is the main way in — it's where servers, voice, and the community live. There's no Union mobile app yet.

If you want to keep up with direct messages while you're away from your desk, the Zulip mobile app works with the same account: install it, point it at zulip.reptile-industries.com, and sign in with the details you created in the app. It's for DMs and catching up on chat only — voice and server features are desktop-only.

Requirements & troubleshooting

Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. Around 200 MB of disk space. macOS and Linux builds aren't available yet.

“Windows protected your PC”
Expected. The installer isn't code-signed — a certificate that Windows trusts costs a few hundred pounds a year, and we'd rather put that into servers for now. Click More info → Run anyway. If you'd rather verify it yourself, the SHA-512 of every release is published in latest.yml.
